TMCF is a 501 (c)(3) founded to protect and preserve the mesas and slopes of North and South Table Mountains as the signature landmarks in northern Jefferson County, Colorado. To this end, TMCF engages in a variety of activities:

-Sponsor presentations on the botany, geology, and archeology of the mesas, held at the American Mountaineering Center.

-Lead ‘wildflower walks’ on North Table Mountain, thereby exposing people to the singular and rarified beauty of these Front Range sentinels.

-In cooperation with the City of Golden and using volunteer work parties, adopt, build and maintain trails on the mesas.

-Disseminate information on the status of the mesas by staffing booths at community events, informing public officials of mesa land issues, and distributing our brochure.

-Sponsor the yearly Mesa Music Fest in August, Golden’s “celebration of open space”. This event brings together musical groups, food, and open space advocacy groups for a day-long park festival.

-Working with the Golden Open Space Subcommittee, JCOS, and certain land­owners, explore the advancement of our core purpose: the acquisition and preservation of the mesas as open space.
