Genesee Forestry Committee
The
Genesee Forestry Committee is a committee of the Board of the Genesee
Foundation, a homeowners’ association. The mission of the Forestry Committee
is to seek to preserve and protect the natural qualities of Genesee’s Open
Space lands, maintain diversity of wildlife habitat in a healthy state, and
support measures that allow residents to have the fullest aesthetic and
educational experiences afforded by the unique natural area.
The
Committee was formed soon after the homeowners association was created by the
Genesee Board and included residents concerned about the protection of Open
Space owned by the Foundation. The current primary issues with which the
Committee is dealing are wildfire prevention and mitigation and weed control.
