Friends
of Red Rocks
From contentious grass- roots beginnings regarding proposed architectural changes and commercial promotions at Red Rocks, Friends of Red Rocks has achieved status as an architectural and preservation advisor to the City and County of Denver in its $25 million restoration of Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre.
FORR’s Open Space Initiative has succeeded in forging
harmonious and collaborative relationships among nearby land owners, Park
managers, Park users, real estate developers, and governments as well as
increasing the land area of Red Rocks Park by 30%. FORR grew from six to 400+ members in less than two years.
The organization currently is engaged in a study of the
effects of proposed nearby DTV (Digital Television) broadcast towers on Mt.
Morrison on health and safety of visitors to Red Rocks Park and on audio systems
in Amphitheatre.
